Welcome to the Silent Wings Museum |
Billy the Kid Silent Wings Museum is dedicated to the legacy of the WWII Glider Pilot and tells the history of the American military glider program. Members of the National World War II Glider Pilots Silent Wings Museum Association, Inc. originally established the Silent Wings Museum in Terrell, Texas in 1984. In 1997, the glider pilots began to explore options for ensuring the permanence of the Museum. The Terrell location closed in January 2001 and the Silent Wings Museum re-opened 22 months later in the renovated and expanded old terminal building on the west side of Lubbock International Airport. |
